Smyth County believes that workforce development means focusing on people.  We understand that in order to enhance our community and region, there needs to be an interconnected set of training and development to meet the ever-changing employment needs.

Supported by federal and state funds and local service agencies, the NRV/MR WIB shows its commitment to the region’s quality of life by helping people find jobs and train for better careers. Qualified adults and youths can visit the One-Stop Centers for training, job and career counseling, and other job-related information.

PEOPLE, INC. 

People Incorporated provides opportunities for low-income people to improve their lives, their families and their communities. Our services are designed to move people toward self-sufficiency and into the economic mainstream. Through a variety of innovative programs, we help people build and acquire assets by assisting them to continue their education, improve their health or job skills, increase their savings, find safe and affordable housing, or develop a small business.
